Just a reminder that our Memorial Day Assembly is this Thursday at 1:30.  Hope to see all there.  Please continue to practice the songs and readings.  Practice sheets must remain in the reading folders and returned to class daily.  Students may dress in red, white, and blue (patriotic) to tie in with our assembly theme.  For those students who were in church this past Sunday for the first grade Mass, you may dress down on Tuesday.  This Thursday is Ascension Thursday, a Holy Day of Obligation and the students will be attending Mass.  You will find in the Wednesday HW folder a student Offertory envelope.  We ask you to consider a small donation and return on Thursday for Mass.  Thank you!  I've elected to combine the Unit 5 Week 4 work over the next 2 weeks.  Our spelling and reading tests will be administered on Friday, June 2.  Our top IXL users for the past week were  Adriana, Allie,  Xavier, Giulliano, and Esther.  As always, you're doing an awesome job!  The Chapter 8 (time) IXL related practice skills are U.1 - U.12.  Also, Tri-County is sponsoring a class trip (K-2) to Green Meadows Native Lands on Monday, June 5.  I am still in need of 4 chaperones ($20. fee).  If you are able to join us that day; please let me know ASAP.  Thank you to those parents who have returned the response.  Wishing all families a safe and wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

MONDAY

Math Math WB page 112 / We begin Chapter 8, the telling and writing of time to the hour and half hour / solve problems  by reading a schedule or through logical reasoning.  Due to the change in state standards, money is no longer a part of the first grade curriculum.  You're more than welcome to have your child do the Math WB pages that correspond with money along with the IXL practice skills.  This is not mandatory, only a suggestion which will help give them a head start when the skill is presented in second grade.
