The mission of the Academy of St. Francis of Assisi is to guide our students to grow in their faith, knowledge, and to be of service to others. We have a fully certified, dedicated staff that makes this mission their priority. Gospel values are the center of everything we do. We begin and end each day with school-wide prayer. Students and staff attend Mass every Tuesday morning in addition to daily religious instruction. Our faith based program helps our students to grow in respect for themselves and others.
Our rigorous curriculum is aligned with the Common Core and Paterson Diocesan Curriculum Standards. We offer in class support, occupational therapy, speech, and more to accommodate the needs of our students. Our curriculum is enhanced by art, music, physical education, world language, and technology classes. Our faculty continues to grow in our profession through our partnership with William Paterson University. The University provides us with a Professor in Residence and a Leader in Residence in order to enhance our curriculum.
Students at the Academy of St. Francis take pride in serving others. National Junior Honor Society and Student Council members volunteer at Little Sisters of the Poor, and conduct various collections such as food, toy, toiletry drives. Many of students serve at St. James of the Marches Church as altar servers, choir members, readers, greeters, and offertory bearers.
